(A) Structure of dioscin. MDA-MB-231 (B) and MCF-7 (C) human breast cancer cells were incubated with selected concentrations of dioscin (0 to 100 µM) for 24 to 72 hours. The results indicated that dioscin significantly inhibited human breast cancer cell growth in concentration- and time-dependent manners compared to non-treated (control group) cells. The results are expressed as the mean ± SD of at least three independent experiments. Statistical differences were analyzed with Student’s t-test (*P < 0.05, **P < 0.01 vs. controls).
