Lysates from both cell lines treated with dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) or indicated doses of PIC for 8, 16, and 24 hours were submitted to Western blotting for p53, p21, cyclin-dependent kinase 4 (cdk4), cyclin D1, glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), and β-actin. The numbers on top of the band indicate fold change in protein level compared to corresponding DMSO-treated control. Housekeeping proteins were used for normalization (β-actin or GAPDH). The experiments were repeated at least twice with consistent results.
