Fig. 2. Inhibition of nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production by diallyl trisulfide (DATS) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated BV2 microglial cells. The cells were pre-treated with the indicated concentrations of DATS for 1 hour prior to incubation with 100 ng/mL LPS for 24 hours. The levels of NO (A) and PGE2 (B) in the culture media were measured by Griess assay and a commercial ELISA kit, respectively. Each value indicates the mean ± SD and is representative of the results obtained from three independent experiments (aP < 0.05 compared with the control; bP < 0.05 compared with the cells cultured with 100 ng/mL LPS).
